Manitoban''s Still Waiting for Temporary Homes
Victims of last year''s flooding are still waiting for the government to bring in the 16 temporary homes that were promised months ago. Manitoba Housing provided three million dollars to help support flood victims in the rural municipality of St. Laurent. With four arriving in December and two coming over the weekend, that leaves the people of St. Laurent with no answers. It is estimated that over 60 families were interested in the homes, but the delays have forced many to find accommodations outside of the municipality. Officials with Manitoba Housing were not available to comment.
