Firearm Offences

Winnipeg police have charged a 22-year-old man with numerous firearms offences after he was found in the basement of an East Kildonan home with a weapon. Police were called to a residence shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, on reports of family trouble. Officers found a man hiding in the basement of the home with a prohibited firearm and ammunition. The man has been charged with possessing a weapon dangerous to the public peace, unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm, unsafe storage of a firearm and breaching probation, among other charges. The man remains in custody at the Remand Centre.
