First Homicide 2012

Winnipeg police are investigating the city''s first homicide of 2012 after a woman was found inside a downtown apartment. Officers were called to the 300 block of Assiniboine Avenue at about 10 p.m. Monday. A 34-year-old woman was rushed to hospital in critical condition and later pronounced dead. The cause of her injuries are under investigation by the police service''s homicide unit. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact investigators or Manitoba Crime Stoppers.
