Fire Deaths

Two women and two children have died after five people were pulled from a house fire in Winnipeg''s West Kildonan area on Tuesday night. The only survivor is an infant, about six months old, who remains in critical condition in hospital. Members of the Winnipeg Police Service''s arson strike force are investigating the fire at the home at Woodlark Place near Templeton Avenue. It was reported shortly after 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Firefighters believe the fire started in the basement of the semi-detached house. Neighbours say the children in the house included the infant and a 9 year old girl. There are no details on the third child. The father works nights and wasn''t home at the time of the fire.
