Shafia Trial Resumes this Morning

Police Officials say the courtroom of the Shafia trial was evacuated this morning and could have been caused by a bomb threat. Prosecutors were supposed to continue their closing statements this morning but the trial has been delayed till 1 this afternoon. Prosecutors say there is enough physical evidence alone to convict Mohammed, and Hamed Shafia and Tooba Yahya. The three are charged with the first degree murders of four of their family members. Though the Crown does not have to prove a reason for the killings, the proposed motive behind it was to preserve the perception of honour in the Shafia family. The jury''s deliberations are expected to start Friday afternoon.
