Study Shows More Nurse Practitioners in Canada
Newly published data shows that the number of Nurse Practitioners have more than doubled over the last 5 years. A Nurse Practitioner is a Registered Nurse who has master''s level training that allows them to diagnose patients. At the end of 2006, there were just over eleven hundred Nurse Practitioners which jumped substantially by 2010 to twenty-four hundred. Though it is not all good news as the data shows that more Nurse Practitioners are leaving small community-based practices for hospitals and long-term care facilities.
