PM Harper says Retirement Income System Will See "Necessary" Chan
During the Prime Minister''s keynote speech to world leaders he said that changes will need to be made to the country''s retirement income system. The speech that took place in Davos, Switzerland on Thursday hinted that changes to Old Age Security might be on the way, though it has been announced that current recipients will see no changes. Numbers provided by the federal government estimate that the number of seniors by 2030 will more than double. The Prime Minister also said in the speech that he would like to see more funding going to research and technology and using the immigration policy to help bulk up the work force. It is expected that the Conservative Government will release a budget in the coming months that is hoped to help slash the national deficit.
