Mexican Arrested on Assault of Canadian Tourist

Mexican officials announced late yesterday that a man has been arrested in the case of a Canadian woman who was brutally beaten. Sheila Nabb suffered extensive facial wounds after she was assaulted and left for dead on an elevator at her 5-star Mazatlan resort. Jose Ramon Acosta Quintero was identified by police through blood samples and hotel surveillance footage. Quintero has admitted responsibility in the attack and will likely be charged with aggravated homicide. Nabb has since been taken home to Calgary by air ambulance, and is going to have to undergo extensive facial reconstructive surgery. This attack has been the latest in a series of violent crimes that have left 2 Canadians dead and 5 assaulted.
