Fugitive Will Sell Film Rights to Repay His Victims
A man known as the "Barefoot Bandit" was handed a 7 year federal sentence today. 20-year-old Colton Harris-Moore was on the run for more than 2 years and made international headlines for stealing cars, boats and even planes to avoid being arrested. Barefoot prints left at some crime scenes earned his nickname. He arrived in the Bahamas after crash landing a plane he had stole in Indiana. He was the primary suspect in at least 65 investigations across 5 states and parts of Canada. Harris-Moore was arrested in the Bahamas in 2010 when authorities shot the engine of a boat he had stole. A psychological profile done on the cult-hero said that he had been damaged by a troubled childhood. The judge who sentenced Harris-Moore said his case was a "triumph of the human spirit".
