Dauphin Arson

A 51 year old Dauphin man is facing arson charges following a fire in Dauphin. Officers from the Dauphin RCMP and members of the Dauphin Fire Department were called to a dwelling unit early Saturday after a fire had been discovered in a hallway. Investigators determined that a couple of small fires had been started in a hallway inside the building. A number of tenants were evacuated as smoke was cleared from the building. Nobody was injured and damages have been estimated at $5000.00. Fifty one year old Stanley Russell Widenmaier has been charged with one count of Arson and one count of Breach of Probation. He has been remanded in custody and appeared in Provincial Court in Dauphin yesterday.
