Countryfest Partiers More Well Behaved
If the numbers are right, the crowd at Dauphin’s Countryfest was more well behaved this year then last. Over the entire festival, officers responded to approximately 16 calls for service at the Countryfest site, with the majority of those calls being disturbances involving intoxicated people. In 2011, there were 30 calls for service to the site. Traffic enforcement in the Dauphin area resulted in two people being arrested for Impaired Driving, down from five in 2011. 60 people were charged with other offences under the Highway Traffic Act, up from 20 in 2011. 23 people were lodged in cells for being intoxicated, which is almost half as much as in 2011, when 40 people were lodged for being intoxicated. A total of seven check stops were conducted from June 28th to July 1st. An estimated 1000 vehicles were checked each day.
