Jail Guards Released

Two former jail guards have time to reflect on their actions after being let go for mistreatment of a prisoner. James Garrow of Birch River and Cory Watkins were terminated from their positions after allegedly passing gas on or at an inmate at The Pas Correctional Facility. A spokesperson for Manitoba Justice will only say that Manitoba Justice is committed to the respectful treatment of all inmates, and staff involved in the incident have been dealt with in accordance with government policy. They will not, however, comment on personnel matters.
