Portage Robbery Arrest
A Winnipeg man is now facing charges after a violent robbery in Portage la Prairie. On Tuesday, Leonard Klyne of Winnipeg turned himself in to the RCMP in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. Leonard Klyne has since been charged with Robbery and Uttering Threats and has been held in custody. He was scheduled to appear in Portage la Prairie Provincial Court yesterday. The charges come after the Mac’s store in Portage was robbed. An investigation revealed that a lone male entered the store, went behind the counter and demanded the clerk give him the money. A physical confrontation occurred. The suspect assaulted the clerk, stole an undisclosed amount of cash and fled from the building. The investigation is still ongoing.
