Bear Safety

Our National and Provinicial Parks want campers to be on the lookout, and do their part to stay safe. Bears are found throughout Manitoba, and young black bears are newly adjusting to life on their own in Riding Mountain National Park. Parks Canada advises that while you are a visitor to the park, it is the bears’ natural habitat. While most bears are wary of humans, they are also unpredictable. However, by exercising caution, bears and humans can safely coexist. Visit the Parks Canada website for more information on how to keep the bears at bay while in Riding Mountain National Park.
