Mandatory Laptops

School supply prices just shot up for some Winnipeg parents, with laptops added to the list. Dakota Collegiate now requires Grade 9 and 10 students to buy laptops or netbooks, after a pilot program with Grade 9 students last year. The school division advises parents to buy each student a laptop, with an estimated price of $200 to $450, or seek a used option.
